Emails for everyone
A list of reasons to use text in the body of your email, instead of sending an image-only email newsletter.
After receiving so many all-image emails, I was left to wonder: is there text arriving with these emails that I’m not aware of?
I wanted to be absolutely sure that I couldn’t receive the plain text version of an email in Gmail and Apple Mail, so I created an experiment.
I’ve been noticing a lot of email newsletters and promotions coming my way (from companies with great missions and design that I adore) that are built only with images… without any text at all.
There are many great resources for accessible web design just a Google away. But when it comes to email design in particular, there are a lot of questions that I haven’t been able to find answers to, so I want to do a deep dive throughout the year into this somewhat (very?) confusing topic.
